Landleuchten – Digital Revival of the Village
The Landleuchten project looks at the two rural regions, the Eifel and the Hunsrück, which are affected by structural and demographic change. The reconnection of the population to mobility services, trade and shopping opportunities as well as participation in a cultural-social life is essential for the social and functional survival of rural areas.
The Goal
Therefore, the goal of the project is the development, implementation and testing of a sustainable and holistic approach to ensure the life, work and living quality in rural areas with the help of networked services and autonomous mobility providers. With the further development of distributed systems and SmartContract-based services using autonomous, electrified vehicles it is possible to create a local platform and evaluate it in a variety of field trials. For the purpose of a responsible technology development, new and socially desired mobility services are designed in consultation with the needs of the local population and transferred into innovative business and logistics models. Service systems as well as sustainable, flexible logistics systems will be integrated, whereby the participation in rural areas invigorated. At the end of the project time all the new services are transferred to one common start-up.
