Projekt CRD A - Functional Perspective: Combination of Machine Learning, Model-Based Al Methods and User Centric Interfaces in Context Adaptive Production Environments

The Internet of Production, short IoP Cluster of Excellence is based on the vision of enabling a new level of cross-domain collaboration in production engineering by providing semantically adequate and context-related data from production, development and use in real time and with adapted granularity.

The central scientific approach is to provide digital shadows as application-specific aggregated and multi-perspective data sets.

In the Cluster of Excellence a conceptual reference infrastructure will be designed and implemented, which will enable the generation and use of Digital Shadows.

The Cluster of Excellence is located at the core of Industry 4.0 and ties in with the successful work of the cluster "Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries". It represents a significant milestone for the further development of application-oriented and innovative solutions in the field of production technology.

The Human-Computer Interaction Center, HCIC for short, is part of three research areas within the Cluster of Excellence:

In this project network of the Cluster of Excellence, we are working on user-centred "Data to Knowledge Pipelines", which are designed to convert data into knowledge and provide decision-makers with meaningful, actionable knowledge.

In close cooperation with partners from computer science and engineering, we develop combinations of machine learning and model-based artificial intelligence in context-adaptive production environments and create human-centered visualizations. We also develop decision support systems and interfaces for intuitive, adaptive, traceable, replicable and interactive evaluation of model, simulation and smart data on different scales and levels of abstraction for evaluation, diagnosis, prediction and decision making.

Our Goal

Our goal is to build a toolbox for digital shadows, which contains intelligent decision support systems for the human-in-the-loop, ensuring shorter, more efficient and agile innovation cycles.

Martina Ziefle and Gerhard Lakemeyer lead the workstream "Functional Perspective: Algorithms for linking machine learning with model-based analysis and control" within the cluster CRD A " Infrastructure of the Internet of Production".
