Cluster of Excellence Internet of Production – Research School
Project Research School
The cluster of excellence Internet of Production, short IoP, has the vision to enable a new level of cross-domain collaboration in the production domain by providing semantically adequate and context-aware data from production, development and usage in real-time on an appropriate level of granularity.
The central scientific approach is the introduction of Digital Shadows as purpose-driven, aggregated, multi-perspective and persistent datasets.
The Cluster of Excellence will design and implement a conceptual reference infrastructure for the Internet of Production that enables the generation and application of Digital Shadows.
The cluster can be regarded as the core of industry 4.0 and follows on from the successful work of the cluster "Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries". It represents an important milestone for the further development of application-oriented and innovative solutions in the field of production technology.
The Human-Computer Interaction Center, HCIC for short, is part of three research areas within the Cluster of Excellence:
- Functional Perspective within the CRD A
- Acceptance and sustainability of the IoP within the CRD D
- Research School
The Research School within the IoP focusses the systematic support and development of researchers at different scientific stages, like Master Students, Doctoral Students, Postdoctoral Researchers, and disciplines. The research school implements a superordinated framework with focus on both a systematic personnel development, individual career steps, as well as a systematic training programme that fosters the implementation of new topics, dynamics, and give them space for creativity and innovation.
The interdisciplinary exchange is supported by interdisciplinary and cross-domain method trainings and micro-trainings that fosters the placement of cluster relevant disciplinary topics for an interdisciplinary learning environment. The school offers also space for agile work. Thus, there is also room for a need-driven implementation of new approaches and measures.
