Urban mobility is increasingly shaped by the use of various means of transportation, aided by the broad access of technical systems that support travelers during a trip as well as before when planning and booking it. The frequency of innovations in the area of information and communication technology as well as the wide spread of smart phones facilitates the merging of multiple modes of transportation and available travel information. This not only enables the construction and use of flexible, intermodal options (hire bike, electric vehicle, getting a ride, cab, bus, train) but also makes them readily available to travelers. To this end, within the Mobility Broker project, a digital market place will be developed that will integrate all of the available mobility possibilities of a region via a standardized interface, combine them to a flexible and intermodal proposal which will then be available to the traveler as an intuitively usable mobile application.
