Ralf Philipsen, M.Sc.

Ralf Philipsen is a research assistant at the Human-Computer Interaction Center (HCIC) at RWTH Aachen University. He is currently working on SLAM, an electromobility research project to establish a fast-charge network for road axes and metropolises throughout Germany. To this effect, a simulation tool will be developed to find suitable locations for fast-charge stations. This tool will use not only information of urban planning and traffic/transportation but it will also incorporate criteria relevant for the successful implementation of the network such as user requirements.

In addition, Ralf is also part in the setup of the Center for European Research on Mobility (CERM), a test center for the research of communication and networking in the context of mobility and traffic. One focus lies on the study of user acceptance of interconnected assistance systems.

He has studied communication in technology and computer science at RWTH Aachen University. In his master thesis, he addressed decision-making processes in supply-chain and quality management as well as data visualization in business.
