Luisa Vervier is a research assistant at the Human Computer Interaction Center (HCIC) and the Chair of Communication Science at RWTH Aachen University.

Luisa studied psychology at the Alpen-Adria-University of Klagenfurt and the University of Trier. She received her diploma in psychology in 2011. Her diploma thesis dealt with the conception, testing and evaluation of a workshop specifically for High-School Juniors achieving their academic objective. Subsequent to her studies she started working as a psychologist at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University Hospital Aachen until she joined the Human Technology Centre (Humtec) or today´s HCIC at RWTH Aachen University in 2013.

In her interdisciplinary research projects Luisa always focusses on the user dealing with technical devices and observes him out of a social psychological perspective. Using sociological empirical methods, she investigates on user acceptance, user experience, usability, demanded needs and requirements. Moreover, she develops user profiles as well as information and communication strategies for an easier handling of technical innovations for both sides, users and providers. Her research topics range from medical technology, information technology, production processes in industry to digital web services.

In her current project “myneDATA” (funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF), Luisa works at the conception, development and evaluation of a personal data cockpit for using online services and applications.

Alongside her empirical research, she teaches sociological methods and its usage and supervises final degree theses.
