EHealth will be the focus of an interdisciplinary research group formed by communication and social scientists, engineers, architects, and physicians. The projects of this programme will address the relevance of user characteristics like age, generation, and culture, but also cognitive and emotional factors for the understanding and use of technologies applied in the area of medical services. eHealth addresses an extremely sensitive field and it is of great interest to learn more about the needs, barriers, and demands of a broad group of users. The respective projects will examine the specificity of cognitive and emotional attitudes towards new technologies and systematically explore how eHealth technology may successfully meet individual demands.
