Workshop im Boostfundproject: Gender-related Acceptance, Usability and Ethics in New (Medical) Technologies (AC-TEC)

On April 22nd, 2010, an interdisziplinary Workshop in the  AC-TEC-Project: Gender-related Acceptance, Usability and Ethics in New (Medical) Technologies proceeded.

The project's ambition is to expand a predominant product-oriented technology with a user- and application-oriented technology. The platform aims to bring together medics, biomedical technician engineers, mechanical engineers, and computer scientists with social science and humanities. The platform already benefits from current projects and makes a higher impact by combined forces. In the medium- and long-term the systematical localization of gender- usability-, acceptance- and ethical components in all phases of product-design and evaluation will lead to a unique selling proposition. Project coordinators are Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dominik Groß (Medicine-ethics) and Prof. Dr. Martina Ziefle (Communication Science). Further members of the projectconsortium are Prof. Dr. Eva-Maria Jakobs (Textlinguistics/Technic-Communications), Prof. Heather Hofmeister (Sociology, focused Gender-Studies) and Prof. Dr. Rolf Rossaint (anesthesiology).
