Dr. Katrin Arning

Katrin Arning is a senior research assistant at the chair for Communication Science at the Human-Computer Interaction Center.

She studied psychology with a major in work- and industrial psychology and minors in business economics and marketing at TU Darmstadt and RWTH Aachen University. In 2004 she was awarded a doctoral scholarship at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2007 Katrin worked as research assistant at Saarland University, Saarbruecken, in a project dealing with age and mobility (funded by the German Research Foundation). In 2008 she received her PhD in psychology with a thesis on "Training for Older Users of Information- and Communication Technologies." Katrin has further work experience in HR- and Usability Consulting.

Her main research interests focus on quantifying and modelling technology acceptance, user experience and usability. She is doing research in different interdisciplinary projects where psychological and communicative perspectives are combined with parameters of natural and engineering science with regards to content and method.
