Dr. Katrin Arning

Katrin Arning arbeitet als Senior Researcher am Lehrstuhl für Kommunikationswissenschaft am Human-Computer Interaction Center.

Sie studierte Psychologie (Schwerpunkt Arbeits-, Betriebs- und Organisationspsychologie) mit den Nebenfächern Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Marketing an der TU Darmstadt und der RWTH Aachen. Nach ihrem mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossenen Studium erhielt sie 2004 ein Promotionsstipendium der RWTH Aachen. Seit 2007 arbeitete sie an der Universität des Saarlandes als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in einem von der DFG geförderten Projekt zu Alter und Mobilität. In ihrer 2008 abgeschlossenen Dissertation befasste sie sich mit der bedarfsgerechten Gestaltung von Bedientrainings für ältere Nutzer von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien. Weitere Berufserfahrung sammelte sie im HR- und Usability-Consulting.

Katrins Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Quantifizierung und Modellierung von Technologieakzeptanz (z.B. in den Bereichen Mobilfunk, Medizintechnik, Energie und Mobilität), User Experience und Usability. Sie forscht in verschiedenen interdisziplinären Verbundprojekten, in denen die psychologische-kommunikative Perspektive sowohl inhaltlich als auch methodisch mit natur- und ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Parametern verbunden wird.
