SITRA 4.0 – Sustainable Safety Culture as Transformation Approach for the Industry 4.0 in KMU

Digitization approaches of our economy focus on technical solutions and measures for the increase of productivity. The project SiTra expands this perspective by the success factor of participation which is essential for the transformation processes. Only by the use of a likewise and explicit consideration of culture and safety aspects in a participative approach, the potentials of the digitization and the Industry 4.0, respectively, can be tapped. A participatively developed concept of safety culture enables a stable and secure collaboration between human and machine and is the foundation for the employees’ acceptance in companies. The aim of the project SiTra 4.0 is the development of a transformation approach which promotes the establishment of a preventive, participative and communicative elaborated concept of safety culture as essential success factor for the realization in small and middle-sized companies (KMU). The approach being developed is supposed to help companies in terms of identifying resources and barrages, developing an apposite concept of safety culture and adopting concrete measures for the establishment of it. Goal criteria within the development of the respective strategies and instruments are sustainable efficacy, flexibility and the establishment of an extra-company prevention alliance on the way to a digitalized work environment.
